The Best 45 Summer Research Programs for High School Students: for U.S. and International Students

Pioneer Academics works exclusively with high school students who are interested in contributing to a real-world research project as a means to expand their educational and experiential learning.

If you’re a high school student interested in learning more about one of Pioneer’s online research projects, we invite you to attend one of our information sessions.

In 2021, our program received more than 4,500 applications, yet we were only able to accept 1,100 high school students into our program. We, unfortunately, had to turn away many qualified applicants.

However, since we believe all motivated high school students deserve access to quality academic opportunities or have the opportunity to be a part of an exciting research project, we have assembled this list of widely respected academic and summer research programs that accept both U.S. and international high school students. Most summer programs offer both onsite and online classes or an internship program.
